It is the season of giving, and a Champlin, Minn., family did just that in a big way on Monday when they delivered a truckload of pop tabs as a way of saying thanks to the Ronald McDonald House.
The Brown family spent time at the house while their young son was in the hospital. Noah Brown was born with a cyst in his brain, but he's a healthy, happy boy now, and his parents say the help they received during his treatment gave them much-needed peace of mind.
"It was so peaceful to know we were down the hall from our son, especially in such a scary time with him being so little," Megan Brown said.
"Talk about reach out and touch somebody," Don Brown said. "This has been taken to a whole new level."
Bags of pop tabs arrived from Arizona, California, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas, with parcels arriving daily in the mail.
On Monday morning, Don Brown loaded up his truck with 1,000,000 pop tabs -- which will bring in about $500 to help buy meals, toys and other necessities to help those who will rely on the Ronald McDonald House in the future.
