Lawyer accused of representing minor in exchange for sex

ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

The relationship between Royal Oak attorney Donald Guest and a teenage prostitute is a long, complicated one.

It all starts back in 2010 when the duo met through Backpage.com. The girl was 14 at the time, and Guest became one of her first prostitution customers. Their relationship blossomed from there, and the couple reportedly was involved for the next two years.

According to the criminal complaint, Guest called the girl over 1,000 times, paid her $100 for sex, and gave her other gifts and sometimes cash.

Down the road in their relationship, the girl got in trouble with the law. That's when Guest agreed to represent her - in exchange for sex.

In July 2012, she was arrested out of state for giving a fake ID to police. Guest drove her to pick up her belongings, reportedly in exchange for sex.

Fox 2 obtained text messages that further this accusation. The girl is referred to as T.P.

Guest: "Were you still gonna see me?"
T.P.: Y not
Guest: Idk I was just asking cause u said after we finished up in court you would.
T.P. U got money right
Guest: I'm talkin about for helping you out. Remember? ... Just get the appeal from you new lawyer. I knew you would go back on your word.

Guest has been on the other side of the law before. He was disbarred for shady practices against his clients, practices including check fraud and forgery. He was later reinstated, but right the 43-year-old now he is in federal custody awaiting trial.
