ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 1932 Ford Little Deuce Coupe is Jim Oleniczak's dream come true. As a child, he drew pictures of them, and he has wanted one since high school.

"My friend wrote in my yearbook, 'I hope that someday you get '32 Ford you always wanted,' so we got this one about a week-and-a-half ago," he said.

Now that the mean red machine is finally his, Oleniczak brought it straight to Woodward. You will find it in Memorial Park in Royal Oak along with 700 other vehicles.

Dave Bommarito is also a fan of the 1930s. It took him five years to restore a 1935 Chevy Master Deluxe.

"I did a lot of the body work. I did all the paint on it, a lot of custom fabrication," he said.

It will be among 40,000 other vintage and antique beauties and the people who love them during the largest one-day classic car event in the world. As we all know, it is not really a one-day event anymore.

The Zimmerman family from Livonia was also there Friday with their "tot rod," which is a 1923 Mini T-Bucket.

"Do you think you're the youngest classic car owner at this Dream Cruise?" I asked eight-year-old Ashley Zimmerman.

"Yes," she said.

Four guys came all the way from Australia to escape their Aussie winter and soak up some Motor City pride.

"I don't know any other kind of event bigger than this. I think it's great, and that's why we're here," said Darryl Blair.
