ATLANTA -

Whether it's Michigan or Louisville players cutting down the nets after Monday's big game, the new national champions will be using a very special ladder.

"This ladder is a custom nine-foot ladder," said Stacy Gardella from Werner Ladder Company.  "We build an eight-foot ladder and ten-foot ladder that are available in stores.  This is totally unique to the NCAA."

This year is the 75th anniversary of the NCAA tournament, and the ladder bears the names of every championship team.

"Because it was such a memorable year, we said we've got to commemorate it in such a special way," Gardella said.

Where does the ladder go after the nets are cut down?

"The winning school... will have it... for eternity," Gardella explains.

The ladder is actually painted yellow and blue.  That is totally coincidental.  I'm told Werner Ladder has a trademark on yellow and blue ladders.  However, John Beilein and the Wolverines probably think it would look great over at Crisler Arena.
