2nd Annual Food for Hungry Kids Drive

Posted: Updated:
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WJBK) -

Lighthouse of Oakland County and Hiller's Markets are teaming up to help feed hungry kids. The food drive takes place now through April 28, leading up to the annual Lighthouse Hunger Walk on Saturday, May 4.

"At Hiller's we understand some of the challenges facing low income families in the Detroit area in trying to provide children with regular and healthy meals, said Hiller's Markets Vice President Justin Hiller. "We are happy to be supporting the Lighthouse of Oakland County in helping to meet these needs."

Hiller's Markets are accepting canned goods, non-perishable items, or monetary donations at the Berkley, Commerce Township, Northville, Union Lake and West Bloomfield locations. To donate online at the Lighthouse website, visit www.lighthouseoakland.org.

In April 2012 Lighthouse collected more than 700 bags of non-perishable food items. Lighthouse of Oakland County has been helping feed kids for more than 40 years.
