Jeffrey Trevino appeared for a pretrial hearing Thursday after being charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the disappearance of his wife, Kira Trevino. She is still missing but is presumed dead.

On Thursday, prosecutors revealed that the tests conducted on the blood found during the investigation at the couple's home belongs to Kira Trevino.

Charging documents previously stated large volumes of blood were found in several areas of the St. Paul home, as well as evidence of a clean-up effort.

During the hearing, Trevino's attorney made a motion to reduce his $1 million bail to $100,000, but the judge denied the request.

Prosecutors argue that Trevino is a flight risk, citing a phone call made from the jail in which he instructed a relative to get a briefcase from under his bed. Police investigators had already recovered the briefcase as evidence and knew his passport was inside.

Trevino also reportedly told relatives not to put their homes up as collateral for his bail, and prosecutors presumed that implied he did not want them to lose their house if he ran.

Another omnibus hearing has been scheduled for 1:15 p.m. on March 29. Trevino is expected to enter a plea at that time.
