The Minnesota Wild roster will be trading in their hockey jerseys for aprons as they host Wild About Children, presented by West Bend, to benefit the Minnesota Wild Foundation and Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at Landmark Center in St. Paul.
The entire Wild roster will serve as celebrity waiters and serve 275-300 guests. The event is catered by Kincaid's, and raises money through several fundraising vehicles, including a silent and live auction.
In its eight-year history, Wild About Children has contributed more than $814,000 to benefit Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, with $100,000 last season alone.
About the Minnesota Wild Foundation:
Last season, the Minnesota Wild Foundation followed the lead of Minnesota Wild team captain Mikko Koivu and donated $100,000 from Wild About Children to sponsor two private patient rooms in the new Children's Neuroscience and Epilepsy Center at Children's Hospital in St. Paul.
Since its inception in 2000, the Minnesota Wild has invested nearly eight million dollars back into the community. The organization has provided autographed and non-autographed merchandise for local fundraisers and benefits, made contributions to non-profit organizations, implemented successful events and provided awareness and brand connectivity for smaller non-profit organizations.
