SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -
Hundreds of inmates in Michigan prisons are serving life sentences for crimes they committed when they were juveniles. Our "Let It Rip" panel takes a closer look at a federal judge's ruling that gives all of them a chance at freedom.
The following guests join Huel Perkins and Charlie Langton:
Gabi Silver -- an attorney handling four cases involving inmates who were sentenced to life in prison for crimes committed when they were under the age of 18.
Valerie Newman -- an attorney working on seven cases where juveniles have been locked up for decades for the crimes of their youth.
Jim Johnson -- a conservative commentator who says what's missing in this ruling is concern for the victims and their families. He believes the punishment must fit the crime.
Charlie Langton also takes "Let It Rip" on the road and asks people whether the ruling was a good idea.
