Ricky Rubio returned to the Timberwolves lineup for the first time since an ACL injury ended his season nine months ago. The return sparked the Wolves 113-106 win over Dallas in overtime.
"He played well, 18 minutes, nine assists. He's moving fine and got tired," said head coach Rick Adelman. "When he has the ball in his hands, I'm a better coach."
The Wolves trailed by 13 in the first quarter only to outscore the Mavs 32-13 in the second half to take a nine point lead at halftime. The team playing without Kevin Love who missed the game with flu like symptoms found scoring in other places as six Wolves scored in double figures.
Nikola Pekovic played his third straight solid game scoring 21 points in the win, Alexey Shved made 3-of-5 three pointers as the rookie scored 18 points. Derrick Williams scored 16, Luke RIdnour 15 ad J.J. Barea and Andrei Kirilenko both scored 14 points.
Rubio played 18 minutes in his first game back and scored eight points while dishing nine assists andpicking up three steals.
Minnesota ups its record to 12-9 with the win and has won four straight games and iz 6-1 in their last seven games. The Wolves will take tomorrow off before heading to Florida for back-to-back games against Orlando and Miami on Monday and Tuesday.
