It was an emotional homecoming in Howell Sunday afternoon, after nearly 200 soldiers from the Michigan Army National Guard returned home.
The troops spent the past year in Kuwait and Afghanistan.
And their return was an early Christmas celebration for the families of the 1462nd Transportation Company.
They Company arrived just after 3 p.m. Sunday. The men and women arrived by bus to Highlander Way Middle School - and walked through the doors to a heroes welcome.
Following the reunion, the men and women of the 1462nd will get a much-deserved break. They are not scheduled to report back for duty until January.
