HAMTRAMCK (WJBK)

Families in Hamtramck are being told to be on alert after a 12-year old boy says a stranger grabbed him on Denton near the Hanley International Academy.

Hamtramck police say the boy says the man ran up behind him at about 3:30 Monday afternoon and grabbed the back of his jacket. The boy then broke away and ran.

Police say they want to talk with the man who is described as being white, in his 20's with dirty blond hair. He's approximately 5'8" tall and 175 lbs with gages in his ears and a small goatee.

The man was riding in an older model black Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Police say they are asking parents to be extra vigilant while they investigate. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Hamtramck Police Department.
