Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but many people are already talking about Christmas now that Santa is settling back into his seat in malls across the country -- including at Mall of America.
The decorations are everywhere, the sounds of the season are in the air, and Santa brought his bright spirits to start off the season -- but many people are wondering if it's a bit premature.
It seems like the holiday season gets a little bit longer each and every year, and it's already beginning to look a lot like Christmas inside many stores. In fact, the National Retailers Federation says families will spend close to $750 this holiday season, which is slightly up from 2011.
That translates to nearly half a trillion dollars spent this holiday season -- but that spending isn't going to wait until Black Friday. In fact, many stores are planning to kick off the savings on Thanksgiving Day.
