Police say a case of road rage led to a shooting in the parking lot of the Isanti Police Department, sending one person to jail and another man to HCMC with a gunshot wound to the face.
Investigators are still working out the details of what lead up to the shooting, but they believe the road rage incident began on Highway 65.
According to officials, four people -- two motorcycle drivers, a man driving a car and a passenger in that vehicle -- stopped in the police station parking lot at around 4 p.m. on Friday. One of the men on a motorcycle began arguing with the man who had been behind the wheel of the car, and police soon got calls about a fight breaking out.
As officers were walking out of the police department, they heard a gunshot. Officers say the man driving the car pulled a handgun out of the vehicle and shot the motorcyclist in the face.
The victim was conscious after the shooting and was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center.
The gunman was arrested without incident, and he has been booked into the Isanti County Jail to await charges.
Police have not yet released the identities of those involved.
