Though severe weather hasn't been a problem for the fair in several years, that doesn't mean organizers aren't ready for a change in the weather.
There are five shelters strategically placed around the fairgrounds to ensure that people can get somewhere safe quickly, and those sites are identified on the fairgrounds map with a tornado-like symbol.
The coliseum and the Grandstand are the two biggest shelters, but organizers aren't worried about overcrowding. In fact, they say thousands can be kept safe inside the shelters.
